STATESBORO, Ga. - Junior Zach Primavera shot an even par 72 to lead the Ole Miss men's golf team on day one of the Chris Schenkel Invitational Friday at Forest Heights Country Club.
Primavera carded three birdies on the day and stands in a tie for 15th heading into the second round, four back of the leaders.
Unfortunately, the rest of the team found the going tough, as the Rebels finished with a team total of 304. Senior Jonathan Randolph posted a 74, junior Joe David turned in a 78, freshman Kyle Kmiecik carded an 80, and junior Billy Brozovich finished with an 81.
"Zach had a good day, but overall we didn't play well," head coach Ernest Ross said. "We didn't play like we have been practicing. I am disappointed and so are our players. We must put this in the past and regain some confidence for tomorrow."
Auburn fired a 279 and leads Florida (282) by three. LSU (287), Virginia (288) and Tennessee (289) round out the top five.
