Rebels Drop Series Finale To No. 22 Tigers

Oxford, Miss. - After taking game two from No. 22 Auburn yesterday, Ole Miss dropped the rubber match of the three-game series 8-0 to the Tigers at Jane B. Moore Field on Sunday.
Auburn scored seven of their eight runs in the bottom of the second aided by an Ole Miss defensive miscue on a bunt. The inning was highlighted by a two-run triple to left by shortstop Lauren Guzman and a two-run single to center from right fielder Amber Harrison. The Tigers added their final run in the fifth on a Morgan Estell RBI single.
The Ole Miss bats could not produce much against Tiger starting pitcher Angel Bunner managing just a Brittany Broome single up the middle in the third. Brittany Barnnhill took the loss for the Rebels after starting and allowing eight runs, all earned, on nine hits with three strikeouts.
Next up, Ole Miss will travel to Starkville, Miss. to take on in-state rival Mississippi State in a three-game series beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
