DENTON, Texas - Senior Lindsey Perry pitched a complete-game shutout and freshman Londen Ladner smashed two doubles as Ole Miss rolled past Louisiana Tech, 8-0 in six innings, on Saturday at the Courtyard Classic. The Rebels couldn't earn the doubleheader sweep, however, as North Texas knocked off Ole Miss 4-3 in game two.

Perry (6-3) scattered seven hits over six shutout innings, including working out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the fourth to defeat Louisiana Tech in game one. She struck out three in the complete-game win, which was her second shutout of the season.

Ladner got the Rebels on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first with a two-run double to right. The Rebels extended their lead with four runs in the fifth aided by two Louisiana Tech errors. A throwing error on a Brittany Barnhill bunt by pitcher Meghan Kreig allowed Marina Parra to score and another double by Ladner plated Barnhill for Ole Miss' second run of the inning. A pair of RBI singles from Natalie Nimmo and Erinn Jayjohn later in the frame gave the Rebels a 6-0 lead after five.

Barnhill crushed a two-run home run in the sixth that scored Parra and gave Ole Miss the 8-0 run-rule victory. Barnhill finished the game with two runs scored and two RBI, while Parra went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Ladner added two doubles in three at-bats and drove in three runs.

Pinch hitter Courtney Bradshaw's RBI single to right center in the sixth inning broke a three-all tie and lifted North Texas to a 4-3 win over Ole Miss in the second game of the Courtyard Classic on Saturday.

Brittany Broome singled to lead off the game and scored on an errant throw by Mean Green starting pitcher Brittany Simmons. Starting pitcher Brittany Barnhill added an RBI single to center later in the first that gave Ole Miss a 2-0 lead after one. Centerfielder Mallory McNeal tripled to right center to start the top of the second and then scored on a Corrine Doornberg fielder's choice to put the Rebels up 3-0.

North Texas tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the second aided by an Ole Miss error. Shortstop Lesley Hirsch got the Mean Green on the scoreboard with RBI single, and with two down and two on, Ole Miss shortstop Marina Parra's errant throw on a grounder allowed both runners to score and tie the game.

Barnhill suffered the loss after allowing only two earned runs in five innings of work. She gave up four hits and struck out three. Lindsey Perry entered in relief in the sixth and pitched the final inning giving up just one hit while striking out one.

Ole Miss will close out the Courtyard Classic tomorrow versus UTEP at 10 a.m.
