Members of the Ole Miss women's golf team have been blogging throughout the 2010-11 season, and this week the Haley Millsap dishes on the NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Hello,

"Let the Magic Begin" is how we, the Ole Miss Women's golf team, were greeted as we arrived in Orlando on Tuesday afternoon. Did I mention this greeting was our welcome into Disney World? First of all, we would like to thank our coaches; Athletics Director Pete Boone, and Capital One for making the opportunity for us to spend an afternoon at Disney World happen. Whether we were running through fast pass lines, standing in long lines, screaming, laughing, and park hopping we created some lifetime memories. I have to give a shout out to our head coach, Michele Drinkard, because we got her on two rides, The Tower of Terror and The Rocking Roller Coaster. Let's just say anytime we need to laugh we are going to think about her pictures on the screens after the rides.

As student-athletes we have been in our own little worlds working hard to finish up with school and prepare for finals, so the afternoon together was a great start to us pulling together as team and getting ready to compete at the NCAA East Regional Tournament.

We didn't let the magic end in Disney World as we became "Disney'd Out" Tuesday evening and made our way to Daytona. Our host hotel, the Best Western, is beach side, and we are playing a fantastic golf course, LPGA International, which is home of the LPGA. I think those two things right there have some extra magic built into them as well as our coaches modeling some Mickey Mouse ears for us and everyone at the course today during our practice round.

Our team this week is Natalie Gleadall, myself, Haley Millsap, Ashley Lance, Kathryn Fowler, and Jillian Brodd. We had a great practice round today and since our assistant coach, Janell Howland, knows this course from the back of her hand she was able to give us some good insight. We all felt good as we left the course and we feel good about our game plan tomorrow; not to mention we are still carrying the magic along.

That magic is going to be put into action tomorrow afternoon as we start our first round. Our first tee time is 12:30 and you can follow us by going to www.OleMissSports.com and clicking on the live scoring link in the calendar. This is a special week because we are working hard to achieve our goal of making it to the NCAA Finals which will be held in College Station, Texas. This is my third appearance in three years at the NCAA Regional Tournament while I have been at Ole Miss and we have yet to make it to nationals. We are getting stronger and better each year so this could be the year. We have the team to do it, and we believe we belong in Texas in a few weeks. We are prepared, we are ready, and we are ready to spread some birdie magic across the golf course tomorrow. Thank you for your support and Go Rebels!

God Bless
Haley Millsap
