OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss softball will play six fall exhibition games, including a match-up against the National Pro Fastpitch All-Star team, first-year head coach Windy Thees announced on Tuesday.
"I can't wait to get out on the field and see how we perform in games," said Thees, who led Memphis to the NCAA Tournament a year ago. "We will have had a few practices, but it's always different when you put on a uniform and play against someone different."
The Rebels kick off their fall ball schedule on Sept. 23 with a doubleheader versus Vol State Community College beginning at 4 p.m. at the Ole Miss Softball Complex before traveling to UAB on Sept. 29 for a single game against the Blazers at 7:30 p.m.
Ole Miss will return home for an Oct. 1 matchup against the National Pro Fastpitch All-Star squad as part of the NPF "Back To School - College Tour". First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at the Ole Miss Softball Complex and admission to the game will be $5 at the gate. Before the exhibition game against the All-Star squad, the Rebels will host a youth camp for ages 5-12 beginning at 9 a.m. Click here for more information.
"It is special when you get to play against the best players in the world," said Thees. "We are honored to play against the All-Stars for the second-straight year, and I know the girls are thrilled at the opportunity."
The Rebels will wrap up their fall schedule on Oct. 19 with a doubleheader versus Holmes Community College and Northwest Community College at 6 p.m. Holmes and Northwest will also face off at 4 p.m. at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
