Preseason Report 09.01: Rebels Ready For BYU

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss football team wrapped up preseason practice Thursday, as they get set for the season opener Saturday against BYU.
"We had a good Thursday. Lot of checks and balances on everything that we covered throughout camp," head coach Houston Nutt said. "We're getting ready. We went over the gameplan, and worked on special teams. Now it's mostly mental. We'll have a good jog-through tomorrow to make sure we got our substitutions right, play the mental game."
Saturday will mark the debut for several Rebel newcomers, who are expected to either start or see significant playing time.
"When you have so many new ones, you don't always know," Nutt said. "You have a feeling, you go by their work, but you never know until the lights come on. We're excited about seeing them play."
Kickoff for the first ever meeting between Ole Miss and BYU, is set for 3:45 p.m., at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field.
