OXFORD, Miss. - Under the direction of first-year head coach Windy Thees, the Ole Miss softball team opened preseason camp on Monday as the Rebels prepare for the season opener on Feb. 10.

"We are very excited to get on the field and start practice now that we are just four weeks away from the start of the season," said Thees, who led Memphis to the NCAA Tournament last season. "With no class with week, we are focusing right now on season prep and integrating our newcomers into the team."

The Rebels open the 2012 season at Seminole Classic against a field that includes Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee Tech and host school Florida State. Ole Miss will open its home slate on March 2 with the Red and Blue Classic and a tournament field that includes Belmont, Chattanooga and Troy.
