NAMPA, Idaho - The 2012 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded Saturday at Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa, Idaho.
After clocking a season-best 6.61 in the 60-meter prelims Friday, senior Isiah Young competed in the finals of the event Saturday and clocked a 6.63 in the finals to finish seventh in the nation in the event and provided the Rebel men two points.
Junior All-American Ricky Robertson, the 2011 NCAA indoor high jump runner-up, finished ninth overall in the event at the Championships Saturday with a jump of 7-0.5.
The Hernando, Miss. native also competed in the triple jump Saturday, but didn't place, fouling on each of his first three attempts.
Sophomore Fabia McDonald finished 15th in the nation in the pentathlon with a total of 3,740 points. She had broken her own school record in the event at last month's SEC Championships.
Participating in her first NCAA Indoor Championships, junior pole vaulter Neal Tisher finished 19th in the event with a height of 13-5.25.
"We were disappointed overall," Rebel head coach Joe Walker said. "We were proud of Isiah scoring and earning his first All-American honor. This is an unbelievably competitive meet and we had a great indoor season, and preparations were good, but we just couldn't put it together this weekend."
Day one of the Championships witnessed senior All-American Caleb Lee compete in the long jump. He jumped a distance of 24-6.25 to finish 10th in the nation in the event. He finished 15th at the Championships a season ago.
Junior All-American Mike Granger also competed in this year's Championships. He missed the 60-meter finals by .001 of a second Friday.
The six Ole Miss athletes who competed at this year's Championships set a school record for most ever sent to the NCAA Indoor Championships for individual events.
The Rebels will begin their 2012 outdoor season on March 17 at the Rhodes Open in Memphis.
