Rebels Complete Day One Of Gator Women's Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Haley Sanders shot a 4-over 74 to lead the Rebels on a tough first day of the SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational Friday afternoon at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the campus of the University of Florida.
For the day, the Rebels shot a 305 to conclude the opening round of play in 15th place.
No. 2 Alabama grabbed the early lead over the field with a 284 to best No. 10 Georgia by two strokes. Florida State, Kentucky, and No. 4 Auburn round out the top five in the team standings.
Starting the day on the 10th hole, Sanders got off to a nice start to open at 1-under through her first nine. The junior ran into some trouble on her final nine but left herself with an opportunity for a solid finish, sitting one stroke from the top-20 and three from the top-10.
Senior Haley Millsap carded a 75 for the afternoon to leave herself in contention for a top-20 finish as well.
