Rebels In Fourth After Two Rounds In Maui

MAUI, HAWAII - Haley Sanders, Haley Millsap, and Ericka Schneider each sit at 4-over after the first two rounds and find themselves in eighth place, as the Ole Miss women's golf team climbed its way to fourth place at the conclusion of the first two rounds of play Monday at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic.
The Rebels recorded a 300 in the day's opening round--good for fifth place--before registering a 294 in the second round to move up a spot.
Ole Miss sits six strokes behind current leader No. 14 Colorado, who leads PAC 12-mate and second place No. 15 California by three. No. 13 Tennessee is in third place--four strokes behind the Buffaloes.
Sanders led the way in the first round Monday, firing a team-best 1-over 73. The junior bogeyed four holes, but rolled in three birdies for the round. The Rebels' team-leader in stroke average opened up at 1-under through the first nine in the second round before finishing with a 75.
A nice start propelled Millsap to a 75 in the first round before the senior turned in a 73 in the second round. Starting at the eighth hole, Millsap again opened strong but was able to limit her errors on the course's difficult 1-9 stretch the second time around.
After carding a 76 in the first round, Schneider was impressive in the second, firing an even-72. Schneider bogeyed just two holes and only one on the problematic front nine to join her teammates in the top 10.
Natalie Gleadall recorded a 76 in the first round before shooting a 2-over 74 in the second. The senior moved up to 16th place at 6-over for the tournament.
