Gleadall Paces Rebels In Day Two Of SEC Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Natalie Gleadall shot a 3-over 75 as the Ole Miss women's golf team completed the second round of play in the SEC Championship at the Blessings Golf Course on Saturday.
The Rebels shot a 315 for the day, falling to eighth place in the team standings.
No. 5 Auburn shot a 297 to move into first place--one stroke ahead of second-place Arkansas, who fired a round-best 295. No. 2 Alabama, which began the day in first place, fell six strokes back from the lead.
"Golf can be so humbling sometimes, and today we just didn't get it done," said Ole Miss head coach Michele Drinkard. "The good thing is that we have one more round. This team is much better than what they scored today. They just have to believe and compete. We need to show up to compete from our first hole and take care of the five par-five's and five par-three's."
Gleadall caught fire on the nine through 16, rolling in birdies on five of those eight holes. The senior's 75 vaulted her into 22nd place--one stroke out of the top 20.
After firing a 74 yesterday, junior Ericka Schneider carded a 78. Schneider converted four consecutive birdie attempts on the 10 through 13 holes before finishing at 6-over. She will enter the final round one stroke outside of the top-10.
Haley Sanders shot an 80 on Saturday and is also in contention for a top-20 finish.
