BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss freshman Michaela Quinn has run two races in her college cross country career, and now she has two Southeastern Conference weekly honors to show for it.

Quinn turned in an impressive 17th-place performance out of 340 runners this past weekend at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., and has been named the SEC Women's Freshman Runner of the Week.

She ran the 6K course in 20:33.95, becoming just the third Ole Miss woman to ever break 21 minutes over that distance. She averaged a 5:30 mile and led the Ole Miss women to 12th place as a team in the elite-level Blue Race.

The Nowra, Australia, native finished second among SEC runners and first among SEC freshmen, while placing third among all freshmen in the meet.

She currently holds the fastest 6K time by an SEC freshman this season and the seventh-fastest overall.

Quinn was named SEC Women's Runner of the Week on Oct. 1 after placing seventh at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational in her collegiate debut.
