OXFORD, Miss. - The Rebel men's and women's cross country teams head to Nashville to participate in the annual Commodore Classic on Saturday.

The men will run in the 8K and the women the 5K at Percy Warner Park.

The men's "Gold" race, which includes only Division I schools, begins at 9 a.m., and the women's "Gold" race begins shortly after at 10 a.m.

The Rebel women, ranked fifth in the South region in the preseason USTFCCCA poll, are coming off a strong second place finish in the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic led by freshman Karlie Garcia with a third overall finish and time of 17:32.32 in the 5K.

Ole Miss' veteran women, including junior Haley Cutright, senior Kayleigh Skinner, senior Amy McCrory and junior McKenna Coughlin, will return to action after the Lady Rebels had an all-freshmen contingency in Memphis for their first meet.

Ian Carter led the Ole Miss men, who are ranked eighth in the South region, with a fourth overall finish and a four-mile time of 21:35.76 in Memphis. Freshman Trevor Gilley will join the Rebels for his first meet of his collegiate career on Saturday.

"Nashville was the site of the SEC Championships last year, so it is a course our returners have been on, but our freshmen are also excited to get up there and compete on the course," head coach Brian O'Neal said. "We are looking to see some improvement in our group and continuing to move ahead."
