BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss junior Nakeyta Clair (Country Club Hills, Illinois) is one of the top middle blockers in the conference and has put together one of the best seasons in school history. On Wednesday her hard work was rewarded as she was named to the All-SEC Team by the league coaches.

Clair becomes the first player to be named to the All-SEC Team since former All-American Regina Thomas earned the honor in 2011. Clair was named to the All-Freshman Team in 2012.

"We are all very proud of Nakeyta and the year she is having," head coach Steven McRoberts said. "She has been a go-to hitter for us since day one and she has handled the pressure well. Nakeyta definitely has set the bar high for future middles in our program. I'm glad that we get her for one more year."

Clair has helped lead Ole Miss to the best start in school history (10-0) and the most wins since the 2007 season (currently 21-9). She ranks third in the SEC in hitting percentage (.403), sixth in kills per set (3.37), 11th in blocks per set (0.96) and sixth in points per set (4.01).

This past weekend, Clair set the school single season record for kills with 337. She ranks ninth in the SEC for active players in kills with 789, which also has moved her into eighth all-time at Ole Miss. With 96 total blocks this year, Clair became the second player in the rally scoring era to record 300 total blocks. She currently has 310 blocks.

Clair is currently on pace to finish with the second best single season attack percentage (.403) at Ole Miss and currently ranks second all-time with a career .331 percentage.

The Rebels conclude the regular season with two home matches, beginning with Georgia Wednesday at 6 p.m., followed by Texas A&M Friday at 4 p.m.
