OXFORD, Miss. - It was an offensive attack here Wednesday at the Gillom Sports Center, as the Ole Miss Volleyball team hit a school record .432 with 53 kills, including three players in double-digits, to down Georgia 3-0.

The Rebels improved to 22-9 overall and 8-9 in the SEC. With a 12-3 record at Gillom, the Rebels equaled the most home wins in school history. They will go for the record Friday against Texas A&M.

Freshman Lexi Thompson paced the offensive attack with 17 kills on a .429 clip. Sophomore Melanie Crow had another great match, finishing with 14 kills on a .478 percentage, and for the second match in a row, recorded five service aces.

"When you break the school record for hitting percentage against a conference opponent that says a lot about how we were clicking offensively. When we can get Lexi and Mel hitting like they were from the outside, we're pretty tough to stop. Nakeyta had her typical match with lots of kills and a high hitting percentage. Our passing was on and our serve receive was really good, giving Aubrey multiple options."

Earlier in the day, junior Nakeyta Clair was named to the All-SEC Team, and then she came out and hit .611 with 12 kills and only one error.

Senior Marie-Pierre Bakima had 13 digs to lead the Rebels in that category, and sophomore setter Aubrey Edie posted a double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs.

The first set was highly competitive with both teams hitting well above .400, including Ole Miss at .517. Georgia led by one 22-21, but the Rebels used a 4-0 run to close out the set 25-22, including a kill and an ace from Clair.

Set two the Rebels raced out to a 9-5 lead and never looked back winning it 25-14. Georgia hit just .147 in that set, while the Rebels stayed on the offensive at .421.

With a 2-0 lead in the match, the Rebels did not want to allow Georgia to get back in it. The Bulldogs won the first two points and led 6-5, but that would be their last lead, as the Rebels used a 5-0 run to go up 10-6. Georgia never got closer than two the rest of the way, as the Rebels won it 25-20 to take the match and snap a three-match losing streak in the series.

The Rebels and Aggies will square off in a rematch Friday at 4 p.m. A&M won the first meeting in College Station, 3-1. It's the annual Black Friday Extravaganza. Fans will have opportunities to win prizes during timeouts.
