BIRMINGHAM - Senior forward Tia Faleru (Ozark, Ala.) was named women's basketball SEC Player of the Week after her performances against Southern Miss and Alabama A&M last week. Faleru played her 100th career game and picked her 23rd career double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds against Alabama A&M. It is Faleru's second career SEC honor and the first for an Ole Miss player this season.

Faleru had a great week on the hardwood, averaging 20.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds in two Ole Miss victories. She posted 17 points in a win over instate rival Southern Miss on Thursday and picked up her third double-double of the season with 24 points and 14 rebounds against Alabama A&M. She extended her double figure scoring streak to three straight and nine of Ole Miss' 12 games this season. With her 24 points against, Alabama A&M, the Ozark, Alabama native tallied her 14 career game of 20+ and her third game of 20 or more this season. Additionally, her 14 rebounds marked her fourth game of double figure rebounds in her senior campaign.

The forward became the second player of the 2015 senior class, joining Danielle McCray, to play in 100 career games against Alabama A&M and also was 11-of-13 from the free throw line, for her best outings at the charity stripe this season. On the week, she shot .650 percent from the field and is closing in on 1500 career points, sitting just 345 points way from the milestone.

Ole Miss is back on the hardwood on Dec. 29 when they welcome former Ole Miss Rebel, Yolanda Moore and her Southeast Louisiana squad to Tad Smith Coliseum. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
