OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 21 nationally ranked Ole Miss men's tennis team returns to action Friday at the Gillom Sports Center hosting Southern Miss in a doubleheader beginning at 10 a.m. The second match will start not before 2 p.m.

Fans coming to the first match will receive a free lunch bag, while fans who attend the second match will get a free foam finger.

The Rebels are looking to even their record after a tough opening weekend Jan. 25-26 with close losses to No. 26 Michigan and No. 25 Clemson. Senior Johan Backstrom and junior Nik Scholtz both own a 2-0 dual match record in singles.

"Southern Miss is a well-coached team and is solid from top to bottom," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "I've been impressed with how hard our guys have worked this past week, and we are looking forward to Friday."

Southern Miss enters Friday's matches at 4-2 overall. They are coming off a 4-3 win over UC Riverside in Las Vegas at the Runnin' Rebel Classic. The Golden Eagles are led by senior Paulo Alvarado at No. 1 singles.

Admission to all home matches is free.
