LEXINGTON, Ky. - Ole Miss senior Mary Ashton Nall had a strong first day of the heptathlon to get the Rebels started at the 2014 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday.

After the first four of seven events in the competition, Nall sits in seventh place with 3,205 points. She posted a personal-best high jump of 5-6.5 and season bests in the 200 meters (25.34) and shot put (33-10) to highlight her day. She ran 14.15 in the 100-meter hurdles, which was fifth-fastest on the day. She was a top-five finisher in the high jump, 200 and 100 hurdles.

The second day of the SEC heptathlon that includes many of the best multi-eventers in the nation will feature the long jump, javelin and 800 meters. Nall placed fourth at last year's SEC outdoor meet and went on to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Championships.

Other events to watch on Friday include prelims of the 200, 800 and 400 hurdles, as well as finals in the men's hammer throw and men's and women's 10,000. All the action gets underway at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT.
