Sept. 10, 2014 OXFORD, Miss. - KT Short has joined the Ole Miss athletics leadership team as the assistant athletics director for game operations.
Short joins the Rebels after serving as senior director of premium seating management with The Colonnade Group in Birmingham, Alabama. During her tenure with The Colonnade Group, she oversaw all aspects of premium management including game day operations, catering, policy guidelines, budgetary items and client relations. Short developed strategic plans for focused daily management of local premium seating directors at Ole Miss, the University of North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Jacksonville State University.
"When I was approached about the opportunity to work for my alma mater, I was both honored and humbled, and didn't hesitate in saying, 'Yes,'" Short said. "I look forward to working with a superior group of leaders focused on finding unique and innovative ways to enhance the Ole Miss game day experience."
"We are very excited to announce KT Short as our new assistant AD for game operations," said Joe Swingle, associate AD for facilities and game operations. "She will serve on our senior leadership staff and brings a wealth of knowledge on guest services and event planning. Her passion for fan experience, attention to detail and her plan for the success of Ole Miss won us over. We could not be more pleased that she chose to join our team here at Ole Miss."
Before moving to The Colonnade Group corporate office in Birmingham, Short served as the local director of premium seating management for Ole Miss Athletics. She was directly responsible for day-to-day management of all athletic premium seating venues. Short was instrumental in managing the newly constructed premium areas of the South End Zone during its inaugural season in 2002.
Short (formerly Cooke) graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 1999, and earned her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College in 2002.
A native of Iuka, Mississippi, and graduate of Tishomingo County High School, Short has one son, Ethan.
