OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss track & field and cross country teams give back to the Oxford community on a regular basis.

Most recently, the Rebels participated in the Fourth Annual Charger Challenge, which took place at the Oxford Middle School on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The team instructed children in a general warm-up for all sports. The participants had a chance to run a 40-yard dash along with other activities like team tag relays, wheel barrel relays and baseball toss.

"Having the opportunity to spend a few hours with kids from surrounding schools, it really meant a lot to both them and me," said senior heptathlete Fabia McDonald. "Being that this was the fourth annual Oxford Challenge, it gets better each year and the members of the organization made me feel very welcomed."

"The Charger Challenge was an eventful day," senior hurdler Robert Semien added. "Seeing all the kids come up to me wanting to play brought back memories from my childhood. It was a good feeling to give back and play with the children and help them grow socially. Their enthusiasm and smiles made my day that much brighter."
