Fresh Faces of Ole Miss Baseball

With fall practice underway, the Ole Miss baseball team is already gearing up for the 2016 campaign. The fall season is also the time when the incoming recruiting class goes through official practice for the first time. This season features 17 newcomers beginning their Ole Miss careers. As practices and intrasquads continue, OleMissSports.com will introduce you to some of the newest Diamond Rebels each week through the remainder of the fall season.

#1 DJ Miller | OF | Madison, Ill. â€" Granite City HS
Miller was a dual-sport athlete at Granite City High School, earning three letters in both baseball and basketball. The Madison, Illinois native was named 2015 Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-Region (Central) by Perfect Game. Perfect Game also tabbed Miller as the 12th-best player in Illinois and third-best outfielder in the state. As a senior, Miller earned first team all-state, all-conference and all-area honors. He also collected second team all-area and all-conference accolades during his junior campaign.

#23 Connor Green | RHP | Collierville, Tenn. â€" St. George's Independent School
Green lettered all four years of high school; he even earned two letter as a member of the basketball team and one letter as a golfer. Before arrive at Ole Miss, Green was named 2015 Honorable Mention All-American and Second Team All-Region by Perfect Game. He was a three-time all-region and all-metro selection throughout his high school career. The Collierville, Tennessee native posted a perfect 9-0 record with a 0.55 ERA and 122 strikeouts in 76.2 innings to earn all-state accolades as a senior. Also during his final year of high school Green was named the Best of the Preps Player of the Year by The Commercial Appeal as well as the school's male athlete of the year.

#40 John Creel | RHP | Huntersville, N.C. â€" Lake Norman Charter
Rated the 43rd-best prospect in the state of North Carolina by Baseball America, Creel was a four-year letterman at Lake Norman Charter School. Perfect Game named him a 2015 Honorable Mention All-American and First Team All-Region (Atlantic) selection. Posting an ERA of 1.98 throughout his four-year high school career, Creel earned all-conference accolades as a sophomore and senior. The Huntersville, North Carolina native's athletic ability extends beyond the baseball field. While in high school, he lettered four years and was a two-time all-conference honoree as a member of the swim team.
