1. Ole Miss made it three straight with a 59-53 win over Western Kentucky on Wednesday night, snapping Western's two-game win streak in the series. For the fourth time this season, Shandricka Sessom led the way with 18 points, while Bretta Hart cleaned the glass to the tune of 18 rebounds for her second game in double figure rebounds this season.
2. Bretta Hart has been a rebounding machine this season and for the second time this season and the third time in her career posted double figure rebounds against Western Kentucky with 18 rebounds. Hart has posted the top two rebounding performances in the SEC this season with 19 boards against UL-Lafayette and 18 against Western Kentucky.
3. Shandricka Sessom knocked down three triples against Western Kentucky, tying her career high set last season against Middle Tennessee. Sessom is averaging 1.7 three-point field goals per game, which ranks in the top 15 in the SEC.
4. Sunday's' game is the seventh meeting between Ole Miss and Arkansas Pine Bluff with the Rebels holding a commanding 6-0 lead. The last time the two teams meet was during the 2011-12 season with Ole Miss winning 83-52. This will be the seventh straight meeting in Oxford between the teams.
5. Ole Miss is getting production from all of its players. Each of Ole Miss' players is averaging at least 2.0 points per game and 10 of the 12 active players are averaging at least 4.0 points per game. On the rebounding front six players are averaging at least 4.0 rebounds per game.
Ole Miss vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff Notables
-This will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2011-12 season. Ole Miss owns a perfect 6-0 record against the Lady Golden Lions and is averaging 89.0 points per game over the six meetings. This will be the seventh straight meeting between the teams in Oxford.
-Arkansas Pine Bluff has one player from Mississippi on the roster in Niya Head who hails from Tchula, Miss. The Rebels have no players from Arkansas on their roster.
A Win Would
-Give Ole Miss it's fourth straight win and move the series record to 7-0 against Arkansas Pine Bluff. Ole Miss would also move to 2-0 this season and 74-6 all-time against teams from the SWAC.
-Move the Rebels 11 wins way from the 800th victory in program history. Ole Miss' current record is 788-475. The earliest Ole Miss could hit the 800th win would be on Jan. 21 against Kentucky.
Rebels By The Numbers
4- Number of games freshman Madinah Muhammad has started. Muhammad, out of Chicago, Ill., is the only Ole Miss freshman to start more than one game this season and the only to start consecutive games. She is averaging 5.7 points in games started.
5- Number of steals A'Queen Hayes had against Western Kentucky, tying her career-high. Hayes is averaging 1.6 steals per game and has 11 this season.
6- Number of triples freshman Torri Lewis had against UL-Lafayette just one shy of the freshman record for three-pointers set by Shae Nelson in 2011. Additionally it was two shy of the Tad Smith record for three-pointers set by Gracie Frizzell last season.
8- Number of consecutive games Ole Miss leading scorer Shandricka Sessom has scored in double figures. Sessom is averaging 17.4 points per game and is the SEC's fifth leading scorer.
19- Number of rebounds Bretta Hart had against UL-Lafayette. The 19 rebounds are a career-high. Hart, who entered the season averaging 2.1 rebounds per game, is averaging 9.3 rebounds per game and owns the top two rebounding performances in the SEC with 19 vs. UL-Lafayette and 18 vs. Western Kentucky.
Scouting Arkansas - Pine Bluff
Arkansas Pine Bluff enters Sunday's game with a 3-4 record after a 82-32 loss to UAB on Thursday night. Niya Head leads the Lady Lion offense and is averaging 12.6 points and 8.0 rebounds. Destiny Brewton joins Head in double figures with 10.3 points per game. Head leads the rebounding efforts as well, while Attirah Munir is adding 4.6 rebounds per game as the second-leading rebounder. UAPB is averaging 54.4 points per game and 38.3 rebounds per game. The Lady Lions have faced another SEC foe in Mizzou, a game they dropped in Columbia.
About Ole Miss
Sophomore Shandricka Sessom continues to lead the Ole Miss offense with 17.4 points per game and has reached double figures in each game this season and in eight consecutive games dating back to last season. Erika Sisk joins Sessom in double figures with 11.4 points per game, while Shequila Joseph and Madinah Muhammad are nearing double digits with 7.4 and 7.1 points per game, respectively. Bretta Hart leads the rebounding efforts with 9.3 rebounds per game, while rookie Jonell Williams is contributing 6.7 boards per game and Sessom is contributing 6.0 boards per game. As a team, Ole Miss is averaging 77.9 points per game and grabbing 47.4 rebounds per game.
