Where Are They Now: Shawn Goff

This summer the Ole Miss women's basketball team will be taking a look at some of the noticeable names from seasons past and seeing what they're up to now. Today we'll check in on one of Ole Miss' great players and current assistant coach at Coahoma Community College, Shawn Goff.

If you need a shot blocked, former Rebel Shawn Goff can get the job done. Goff, who played for the Rebels from 2005-09, is still the all-time leader in blocked shots with 208 career rejections.

Goff, a Tallahassee, Florida native, had a stellar career at Ole Miss amassing 1,179 career points and 702 rebounds. Her 1,179 points ranks 19th all-time at Ole Miss and she is one of 10 players with over 1,000 points and 700 rebounds. In her senior season, she averaged 13.8 points per game and scored in double figures on 23 occasions.

She was a standout off the court as well. She was a four-year member of the Ole Miss Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and participated in the NCAA Leadership conference in 2007. Goff and her teammates had a magical run to the Elite Eight in 2007, upsetting the defending national championship, Maryland. She was also a finalist for what is now known as the CSpire Gillom Trophy, awarded to the top female player in the state of Mississippi.

After graduation, Goff continued her playing career professionally overseas in Sweden and Poland where she helped her squads to postseason action, which earned her an invitation to the Atlanta Dream's training camp. During her time with the Dream she started two preseason games.

Goff got bitten by the coaching bug and is back in Mississippi serving at Coahoma Community College as an assistant coach. Ironically, the entire Coahoma staff has ties to Ole Miss as head coach Danetra Forrest, was one of Goff's teammates at Ole Miss.
