Texas Standout Joins Rebels

OXFORD, Miss. - Texas standout middle blocker Bayleigh Scott is the newest member of the Ole Miss volleyball family, as she signed a national letter of intent to join the program in the fall of 2017, head coach Steven McRoberts announced Wednesday.
Scott, who hails from Rockwall, Texas, is a 6-0 middle who was recently named a Senior Ace by PrepVolleyball.com. She helped lead Rockwall High School to the 2014 and 2015 District Championship and the Bi-District Championship this year. Scott plays club volleyball for Dallas Premier.
"Bayleigh is a player that I remember watching at a small regional club tournament and was immediately impressed with her play at that position, her athleticism, her ability to close blocks and just her all around hustle," McRoberts said. "She's another one that I can see coming in and competing for playing time right away. She has a strong desire to be a great player at the collegiate level and is somebody who works really hard, which is an important characteristic to have as a middle blocker."
In 2013, Scott was named to the PrepVolleyball Frosh 59 Honorable Mention: The Best Varsity-Playing Freshmen in America. As a sophomore in 2014, Scott received PrepVolleyball Soph 79 - High Honorable Mention.
Additional honors include 2014-15 All-District Offensive MVP and Top Front Row Player nominee for the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Off the court, Scott was named Academic All-District in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Scott joins Tennessee setter Lauren Bars, who also signed an NLI on Wednesday.
While announcing two great additions to the program, the current Rebels are preparing to host Tennessee Friday at 11 a.m. in their annual Kids Day Game. It's part of a tripleheader at The Pavilion at Ole Miss with women's basketball and men's basketball to follow volleyball.
