Gamble Earns CoSIDa Academic All-America Honors

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss senior golfer Forrest Gamble was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I Men's At-Large Team for the second year in a row, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Gamble is one of nine male student-athletes who have earned multiple Academic All-America citations. The Birmingham, Alabama native graduated in May with a 3.97 GPA with a degree in Physics. He has been named to the Chancellor's list ever semester as a student at Ole Miss and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Rolls. Gamble is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. Gamble was inducted into the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges and participated in the Chancellor's Leadership class.
The Birmingham, Alabama native was selected to the second team Academic All-America team after earning first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors last month. Gamble was named last month the 2016 H. Boyd McWhorter Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year last month and was the 2015 SEC Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Gamble finished in the top ten this year at the FAU Slomin Autism Invitational to lead the Rebels to a first place finish, firing a season-low round of 2-under par 69 in the opening round. He finished in the top 20 at the Shoal Creek Invitational in his hometown of Birmingham last fall and paced the Rebels with two rounds of even-par 72 at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship this April to help Ole Miss finish second.
