OXFORD, Miss. -
Ole Miss and Missouri split the first two sets, but the Tigers rallied to win the third and then claimed the fourth set to escape with a 3-1 win (18-25, 25-18, 25-27, 23-25) here Wednesday at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center.

Missouri grabbed the early momentum in set one with a 10-6 lead as Ole Miss called timeout. The Rebels pulled within one, 11-10, but then the Tigers went on a 6-1 run to increase their lead to 17-11. Ole Miss never got any closer than five as Mizzou won it 25-18.

Ole Miss flipped the script in set two and led 18-12, before Missouri ran off five straight points to get within one, 18-17. Strong serving by Emily Stroup helped the Rebels go back up by five, 22-17, and they finished off the set winning three of the four points for 25-18.

Looking to gain the upper hand, the Rebels led 17-13 midway through set three, but Missouri went on a 7-3 run go up 23-20. The Rebels won three straight points to tie it up before Missouri got their first set point, 24-23. Back-to-back kills from Stroup and Lexi Thompson handed the Rebels a set point, 25-24, but then three straight attack errors allowed Missouri to escape 27-25 and take a 2-1 lead in the match.

Trying to extend the match, the Rebels led 15-13 at the media timeout. Missouri tied it up and then the two teams traded points until the Tigers Kayla Caffey put down her ninth kill of the night to give Missouri match point, 24-23. The Rebels followed with an attack error to end the set 25-23 in favor of the Tigers and the match 3-1.
