Stay up to date at OleMissSports.com with former players who are currently playing professional tennis around the world. This week's update includes Nik Scholtz capturing the singles title in Egypt.

Scholtz Wins Eighth Singles Title...
In late February, four-time All-American Nik Scholtz made his first singles final four of 2017, and this past weekend he captured his first singles title of 2017 and eighth overall, winning in Egypt. Scholtz beat three top-300 ranked players on his way to the title, including Aldin Setkic of Boznia/Herzegovina 7-6(5), 6-3 in the final. In the opener, Scholtz took out the No. 241 ranked player in two tiebreak sets and later rallied for a win in the quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal against fellow countryman Lloyd Harris, ranked No. 280. Scholtz also rallied to win that one in three sets.

Double-Trouble from South Africa...
Scholtz also teamed up with Harris to reach the doubles final in Egypt. The two won their first round in three sets and then picked up straight set wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals. They did not play the final after their marathon singles match between each other.
