Thornberry Earns PING First Team All-America Honors

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss sophomore Braden Thornberry continued to add to his long list of accomplishments Tuesday after he was named a PING First-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Thornberry, who captured the NCAA Arnold Palmer Individual National Championship at the Rich Farms Harvest Golf Club Monday, was one of 10 golfers named to the first team. He is joined by Sam Burns of LSU, Oregon's Wyndham Clark, Vanderbilt's Patrick Martin, Stanford's Maverick McNealy, Dylan Meyer of Illinois, California's Collin Morikawa, John Oda of UNLV, Virginia's Jimmy Stanger, and Wake Forest's Will Zalatoris.
The Olive Branch, Mississippi native posted five wins this season, including Monday's NCAA national championship, and led the nation in stroke average at 69.57. His seven career wins in just two season is tied with Dave Peege for the most in school history.
