Rebels begin third tournament in as many weeks
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ole Miss women's golf heads to Louisville today for the Cardinal Cup (Oct. 20-21). The three-day event will Saturday morning at University of Louisville Golf Club, which will be playing 6,303 yards and par 72.
The fourteen-team field consists of the host team University of Louisville, UAB, Ball State, Chattanooga, East Carolina, East Tennessee, Illinois, Maryland, Murray State, Richmond, Toledo, Western Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Ole Miss.
Head coach Kory Henkes is sending six Rebels to compete at the event, including Conner Beth Ball, Julia Johnson, Ellen Hutchinson-Kay, Pi-Lillebi Hermansson, Kie Purdom and Martina Flori.
"As a team, it's important that we continue our momentum that we had in the first round at Old Waverly," said assistant coach Drew Belt. "For this team, it's extremely important for us to get started with a good first round."
"From that point on, we'd like to see all the girls make good on course decisions and see what can happen from there."
This is the third tournament in as many weeks for Ole Miss. The Rebels finished fourth this past Tuesday at the Magnolia Invitational. Conner Beth Ball finished in the top-10 individually.
First round begins Saturday morning with a 8:15 a.m. CT shotgun start.
