Rebels Run at ITA Regional Ends Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis saw its 2018 ITA South Regional run come to an end Sunday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium on the campus of University of Alabama.
In the main singles draw, both Rebel competitors battled through three set sessions. Junior Tim Sandkaulen, ranked 14thin the latest ITA Preseason Rankings, was upset by rival Mississippi State's Trevor Foshey, who took the first and third sets to overcome a 5-7 middle.
Freshman Karlo Kranic, who earned a berth in the Main Draw via a perfect route through the Qualifying Draws, suffered at hands of the Crimson Tide's own Patrick Kaukovalta, who rallied after dropping the first set 4-6 to win 6-4, 6-4.
Sandkaulen also fell in doubles action, partnering with senior Filip Kraljevic. The pair dropped an 8-6 decision to league foes LSU, but Kraljevic did triumph in singles consolation play with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Auburn's Brandon Laubser.
