WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - Ole Miss men's tennis sophomore Tim Sandkaulen continues his season Wednesday, as the NCAA Individual Championships get underway with the first round of singles at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
Sandkaulen (24-12) will face a tough test right out of the gate against the No. 1 seed, Martin Redlicki of UCLA, at 1:30 p.m., CT.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two players.
Redlicki owns a 25-6 overall record and finished the year 16-4 at No. 1 singles.
Sandkaulen will team back up with junior Fabian Fallert in the doubles championship Thursday. The duo will face No. 23 ranked Runhao Hua and Alex Knight of Michigan in the first round with the time to be determined.
After rising to their current ranking of No. 17, Fallert was sidelined for three weeks due to injury, so Sandkaulen teamed up with senior Grey Hamilton. Sandkaulen became one of just two players to be ranked inside the top 25 with two different partners, as he and Hamilton earned a ranking of No. 22.
