Ole Miss Baseball has a history of student-athletes playing professionally following their careers as Rebels. Currently, four former Rebels are on Major League Baseball rosters, while 31 others are working their way up through the minor leagues. Throughout the year, OleMissSports.com will update Rebel fans about the current #ProRebs making their mark on professional baseball diamonds across the country.

#2 Zack Cozart| IF | Los Angeles Angels
In late June, Cozart underwent season-ending surgery on a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. In his first season with the Angels, Cozart was filling a utility infielder role, seeing time and third base, shortstop and second base. He hit .219 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 58 games before injuring his shoulder.
#31 Lance Lynn| RHP | Minnesota Twins
Lynn is 7-7 with a 5.22 ERA in 18 starts this season for the Twins. Lynn is coming off back-to-back winning efforts. He allowed just one run on six hits over six innings of work to top the Baltimore Orioles on July 6. In his next outing, he threw five innings, giving up three earned runs on five hits in a victory over the Kansas City Royals.
#59 Mike Mayers| RHP | St. Louis Cardinals
Mayers has solidified himself as one of the top arms out of the St. Louis Cardinals bullpen this season, tallying a 2-0 record and 3.77 ERA in 31.0 innings of work in 27 relief appearances. Mayers strung together five straight scoreless appearances in late June and has 17 appearances without allowing a run this year. Mayers boasts a 1.26 WHIP as a Cardinal in 2018.
#31 Drew Pomeranz| LHP | Boston Red Sox (Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox)
Pomeranz continues to work his way back from biceps tendinitis, which landed him on the disabled list in early June. Pomeranz has made five rehab starts, keeping his pitch count below 90 in all five appearances. His cleanest outing came on July 7, in which he allowed just one run on five hits.

#30 Anthony Alford | CF | Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A - Toronto Blue Jays)
Alford worked back from an early hamstring injury and has spent most of the season with the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. The former Rebel football player has logged seven games with the Toronto Blue Jays, tallying a pair of hits and runs scored. Alford is batting .223 with the Bisons and has improved as the season has gone along.
#15 Will Allen| C | Greensboro Grasshoppers (Class A-Full - Miami Marlins)
Allen began the season in Class A-Advanced Florida State league for the Jupiter Hammerheads, batting .163 with eight hits, three doubles and six runs scored in 12 games. Since joining the Class A-Full Greensboro Grasshoppers, Allen has hit .294 with seven doubles and six homers.
#30 Aaron Barrett| RHP | Auburn Doubledays (Class A-Short - Washington Nationals)
Barrett continues to work his way back from a spell of arm injuries. Barrett has made five appearances, totaling 4.1 innings of work for the Class A-Short Season Auburn Doubledays. He has allowed just one baserunner over 2.0 innings in his last two appearances.
#20 Tate Blackman| 2B | Kannapolis Intimidators (Class A-Full - Chicago White Sox)
Blackman was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star roster amid a strong season for the Class A-Full Kannapolis Intimidators. Blackman has hit .264 with 12 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs with 48 RBI and 43 runs scored in 84 games. Blackman had hit a bit of a summer slump, going over a month without a multi-hit game, but he recently had a breakthrough performance on July 14, going 4-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored.
#48 Colby Bortles| 3B | West Michigan Whitecaps (Class A-Full - Detroit Tigers)
Bortles has 19 doubles and three home runs this season as he is batting .252 overall for the Class A-Full West Michigan Whitecaps. The former Rebel third baseman has driven in 43 runs and scored another 33 in his second season at the professional level. Bortles recently went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
#20 Auston Bousfield| CF | El Paso Chihuahuas (Triple-A - San Diego Padres)
Bousfield began the season with the Double-A San Antonio Missions, hitting .250 with three doubles and seven runs scored over 12 games. He joined the Triple-A El Paso Chihuahuas on May 12 and has hit .263 with nine doubles, two triples, a home run and 15 RBI.
#7 Chris Coghlan| OF | Iowa Cubs (Triple-A - Chicago Cubs)
Coughlan has worked his way back into form in the Chicago Cubs organization. He began his season in mid-June, hitting .345 over eight rehab assignment games at the Rookie level before moving up with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs. The 11-year MLB veteran is hitting .158 in Des Moines, highlighted by a 3-for-5 day with a home run and two runs scored on July 12.
#36 Matt Crouse| LHP | Free Agent
A 2011 pick in the draft, Crouse spent a majority of the 2017 season with the Seawolves (Double-A). He was called up to Toledo (Triple-A) for a spot start, and remained there for five games, where he went 1-2 with a 5.93 ERA. Upon returning to Erie, the southpaw had three quality starts and two wins for the Seawolves. To close out his season, Crouse was once again called up to Triple-A to compete with the Toledo Mud Hens. He elected free agency at the end of the season, and remains there.
#23 Chris Ellis| RHP | Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A - St. Louis Cardinals)
Ellis began the 2018 season with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals, going 4-0 with a 4.19 ERA over 53.2 innings before being called up to the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. Ellis has made seven starts in Memphis, going 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA. Ellis was fantastic in his last start, going 7.0 innings with just one run allowed on five hits and two walks.
#24 Brady Feigl | RHP | Vermont Lake Monsters (Class A-Short - Oakland Athletics)
Feigl has been excellent in professional ball thus far. He made his pro debut on June 21, allowing two runs in two innings of work. In four appearances since, he has gone a combined 10.1 innings with just two hits and one run allowed. His strikeout tally has increased with each appearance as well. Feigl fanned one in his first start, three in his next outing, followed by four, five and six in his subsequent appearances.
#21 Nick Fortes | C | Batavia Muckdogs (Class A-Short - Miami Marlins)
Fortes went 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in his professional debut against the Auburn Doubledays.
#32 David Goforth| RHP | Syracuse Chiefs (Triple-A - Washington Nationals)
Goforth has made 28 appearances in relief for the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs this season. He is 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA with 18 earned runs allowed in 46.0 innings. Goforth hasn't allowed a run in nine of his last 10 appearances.
#11 Will Golsan | OF | Grand Junction Rockies (Rookie - Colorado Rockies)
Golsan has played in 23 games for the Grand Junction Rockies. The 2018 Rebel captain picked up right where he left off from his collegiate career, hitting .330 with four doubles, a triple and a home run, which came in just his second professional game. He started his pro career with three two-hit games. Golsan strung together five multi-hit games from July 7-13, driving in four runs and scoring five in that span.
#11 Henri Lartigue| C | Clearwater Threshers (Class A-Advanced - Philadelphia Phillies)
Lartigue has played in 63 games, tallying 67 hits in 238 at-bats (.282) for the Class A-Advanced Clearwater Threshers this season. Lartigue has 19 extra-base hits (12 2B, 2 3B, 5 HR) for a .412 slugging percentage with 28 RBI and 28 runs scored. Lartiuge recorded walk-off hits in back-to-back games, beating Dunedin with a walk-off single on June 23 and a home run on June 24.
#15 Braxton Lee| OF | Miami Marlins (Double-A - Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp)
Lee began the season on the Miami Marlins' opening day roster and appeared in eight MLB games, but has since been working through injury, spending time at all three levels of the Marlins' farm system. Lee has hit .202 in 25 games for the Triple-A New Orleans Baby Cakes and is currently playing for the Double-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. He's 2-for-10 with three RBI and two runs scored since joining the Jumbo Shrimp on July 13.
#22 James McArthur | RHP | Williamsport Crosscutters (Class A-Short - Philadelphia Phillies)
McArthur made his professional debut on June 23, allowing just one hit and striking out two in one inning of work for the Gulf Coast League Phillies West. He was then moved up to the Class-A Williamsport Crosscutters. McArthur has thrown three times for Williamsport, going a combined 9.0 innings with just two runs allowed on four hits and four walks with nine strikeouts. McArthur made his first pro start on July 16.
#25 David Parkinson| LHP | Lakewood BlueClaws (Class A-Full - Philadelphia Phillies)
Parkinson had put together a fantastic second season in professional ball. In 15 starts for the Class A-Full Lakewood BlueClaws, Parkinson is 7-1 with a 1.64 ERA. He has struck out 101 while walking 25 and allowing just 64 hits in 82.1 innings of work. He boasts a stellar WHIP at 1.08 and an opponent batting average of .208. Parkinson went three straight starts in early June without allowing a run, and he hasn't allowed more than three in a start since May 6. In his last start, Parkinson gave up just one run on four hits and two walks, striking out nine over 6.1 innings to earn his seventh win.
#14 Alex Presley| OF | Free Agent
Presley opened the season with the Detroit Tigers Triple-A affiliate Norfolk Tides, batting .275 with five doubles and 19 runs scored in 26 games before joining the Chicago White Sox organization in mid-May. In 29 games with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights, Presley hit .198 with three doubles and 12 RBI before being released on June 29.
#8 Errol Robinson| SS | Tulsa Drillers (Double-A - Los Angeles Dodgers)
Robinson has played in 82 games for the Tulsa Drillers this season. The former Rebel shortstop has racked up 80 hits (.256), including 12 doubles and seven home runs. He hit a grand slam on opening day and had a two-homer day on May 22. Robinson has been hot in July, hitting .270 with two doubles, two triples and two homers.
#24 Ryan Rolison | LHP | Grand Junction Rockies (Rookie - Colorado Rockies)
Rolison went 2.0 innings in his professional debut on July 10 against the Billings Mustangs. Rolison gave up a solo home run to the Mustangs' clean-up hitter Pabel Manzanero but was otherwise perfect, allowing just one run on one hit with two strikeouts.
#34 Wyatt Short| LHP | Tennessee Smokies (Double A - Chicago Cubs)
Short was outstanding opening up the season for the Class A-Advanced Myrtle Beach Pelicans. He worked 31.2 innings over 22 relief appearances, carrying a 2.27 ERA and 0.98 WHIP to earn a June 25 call-up to the Double-A Tennessee Smokies. Short has made seven appearances at the Double-A level with just one earned run allowed thus far in 11.2 innings for a 0.77 ERA. Short earned his first Double-A save on July 7, throwing 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits.
#30 Chad Smith| RHP | Jupiter Hammerheads (Class A-Advanced - Miami Marlins)
Smith has been stellar in 18 appearances for the Class A-Advanced Jupiter Hammerheads. The right-hander is 3-1 with a 1.57 ERA in 23.0 innings with seven saves in eight opportunities. He has allowed just 11 hits and 13 walks for a 1.04 WHIP. His opposing batting average is .149. Smith recently earned back-to-back saves, allowing just three total baserunners and no runs in two innings.
#32 Matt Snyder| 1B | Free Agent
Snyder battled his way through injuries playing for the Double-A Trenton Thunder in the New York Yankees' system. Snyder played four games this season, getting a hit in all four for a .267 batting average. However, he landed on the disabled list in April and was released June 21.
#40 Matt Tracy| LHP | Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A - Toronto Blue Jays)
Tracy was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays at the beginning of the 2018 season and opened his season on June 19 in Rookie ball, making three starts with two earned runs allowed for the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays. Tracy joined the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on July 4 and debuted with a brilliant start, allowing no runs on just one hit and one walk in five innings. After a flawless one-inning relief appearance on July 8, he made his second start July 13. He yielded two runs on five hits in 5.0 innings.
#18 Christian Trent| LHP | Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Class A - Milwaukee Brewers)
Trent has not made an appearance in 2018. In 2016, the former Rebel ace spent time between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Brewers' rookie league team in Arizona. He was taken in the 2015 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
#32 Stuart Turner| C | Louisville Bats (Triple-A - Cincinnati Reds)
Turner landed on the disabled list for the Triple-A Louisville Bats on May 5 and began an eight-game rehab stint for the Arizona League Reds, hitting .269 with two doubles on June 18. The Bats activated Turner on June 30, and he has played in seven games since, batting .203 in that span. He went 3-for-4 with an RBI on July 8 and was 2-for-4 on July 13.
#49 Jacob Waguespack| RHP | Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Triple-A - Philadelphia Phillies)
Waguespack has made 18 appearances and 12 starts between the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils. The righty has complied a 4.64 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 66.0 innings pitched this season. In his last start for the IronPigs, he went 6.0 innings, allowing just one run on three hits against the Buffalo Bisons.
#19 Bobby Wahl| RHP | Nashville Sounds (Triple-A - Oakland Athletics)
Wahl has been outstanding for the Triple-A Nashville Sounds this season, earning a spot on the Pacific Coast League All-Star roster. Wahl has made 32 appearances this season with a 2.39 ERA and 10 saves in 11 opportunities. Opposing hitters are just .136 against Wahl, while his WHIP stands at a spectacular 0.90. Wahl has allowed just one run and one hit, striking out 17 batters in his last eight appearances.
#2 Kyle Watson| UTIL | West Virginia Power (Class A-Full - Pittsburgh Pirates)
Watson has hit four home runs with three triples and 10 doubles in 74 games for the West Virginia Power this season, batting .196. Watson has driven in 27 runs and scored 37. Watson homered on July 15 against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
#12 J.B. Woodman| CF | Palm Beach Cardinals (Class A-Advanced - St. Louis Cardinals)
Woodman is putting together a solid third year in Class A. In 58 games with the Palm Beach Cardinals, Woodman is hitting .266 with six home runs and 28 RBI. He boasts nine multi-hit games, including a recent 3-for-4 night with a double, a home run and three runs against the Charlotte Stone Crabs.
#10 Austin Wright| LHP | Addison Braves (Semi-Pro)
Austin Wright signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in February and was assigned to the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. Wright made six appearances for the Biscuits but was released on May 3. He landed with the semi-pro Addison Braves, where he has wasted little time making waves. Wright threw a no-hitter July 1 and broke the Chicago Suburban League record with 24 strikeouts June 14.
