Ole Miss Earns Top 10 Preseason Ranking from Perfect Game

Rebels Rank No. 10 as One of Eight SEC Teams in Top 25

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa  – Ole Miss baseball will enter the 2019 season ranked No. 10 in the nation according to Perfect Game.

The Rebels are one of four Southeastern Conference teams in the top 10 of the poll. Eight SEC squads were slotted in the top 25 with Texas A&M also receiving votes.

Ole Miss' 2019 schedule features three top-10 teams—top-ranked LSU, No. 8 Louisville and No. 9 Florida. The Rebels will also square off with No. 11 East Carolina, No. 13 Arkansas, No. 15 Auburn, No. 17 Mississippi State and the vote-garnering Aggies.

The 2019 slate will be highlighted by a trip to the preseason No. 1 Tigers on May 3-5. The Rebels will host the No. 9 Gators one month prior, Apr. 5-7. Ole Miss will travel to take on No. 8 Louisville in a key non-conference matchup Mar. 12-13.

The Rebels will hit the road to take on No. 15 Auburn, as well as the No. 13 and reigning national runner-up Razorbacks. They'll host No. 17 Mississippi State, in addition to the Governor's Cup meeting in Pearl, Mississippi, on April 23. Texas A&M will come to Oxford, as well as No. 11 East Carolina.

The Rebels return seven starters on offense after pacing the SEC in batting average a season ago. The pitching staff will follow the lead of closer Parker Caracci was named a preseason All-American by Perfect Game after tallying 10 saves and 73 strikeouts a season ago.

Ole Miss opens its 2019 campaign at home (Feb. 15-17) against Wright State.
