Volleyball 2019 Signees: Amber Bischel

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss Volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts announced his Class of 2020 last week during National Signing Day, welcoming five additions to the Rebel roster next fall.
Each day, olemisssports.com will introduce a new member of the 2020 squad. The recruiting class includes multiple national and high school champions, two Top 100 senior aces according to PrepVolleyball.com, and numerous regional and state honors.
Two of the new Rebels, outside hitters GG Carvacho and Samantha Schnitta, will join the squad next semester, with the other three- Emily Hawes, Amber Bischel, and Payton Brgoch- arriving in Oxford next fall.
First up in our introductions is defensive specialist Amber Bischel.
AMBER BISCHEL
Defensive Specialist | 5'5 | Hartford, Wis. | Germantown High School
Bischel, currently in her senior season with the Warhawks at Germantown High, holds the program record for digs and is coming off a Second Team All-Conference honor as a junior, taking First Team plaudits during her freshman campaign. Named a PrepVolleyball Frosh 59 and Soph 79 member, Bischel also garnered All-State Honorable Mention during her rookie season.
Amber plays club for the Wisconsin Juniors, attending both the 2016 and 2017 USA Volleyball A2 High Performance Camps. She was also honored as a Gym Dandie for top defensive specialist in the nation for prep volleyball.
Coach McRoberts on Amber: "Amber is a player that caught our eye really fast. She has great lateral movement and has a great nose for the ball defensively. She is someone who can come and immediately push our defenders. She will add to our team that is already leading the conference in digs. We are excited to add Amber to our squad."
