RALLY POINTS
- Ole Miss dropped its lone contest of the week last Friday, falling 0-3 to Georgia. Senior libero Nicole Purcell tallied 20 digs in the contest, tying for the fifth-most in a three-set match in program history. This marks the third time this season Purcell has recorded a top five single-match dig performance.
- The last time Purcell faced Arkansas and Texas A&M, she eclipsed 1,000 career digs, tallying 25 and 16, respectively. She leads the league in both total digs (479) and digs per set (4.74).
- With just four regular season matches remaining in her Rebel career, senior Nayo Warnell looks poised to finish in the Top 3 in four separate categories. Warnell's .320 career hitting clip ranks third all-time behind All-American middle blockers Nakeyta Clair '15 and Regina Thomas '11. She is currently third all-time in block assists, fourth in block solos, and third in career total blocks.
- The Rebels have just four matches remaining on their regular season schedule. Three of the four opponents have appeared in the AVCA Top 25, and those same three squads boast a Top 20 RPI: Kentucky at 8, Texas A&M at 15, and Missouri at 18.
- The previous meeting this season between Ole Miss and Arkansas was the first meeting in five matchups to go less than five sets. The Rebels downed the Razorbacks 3-1, extending their winning streak to 14 in a row and tying for a program best. Freshman Anna Bair led the attacking, posting a team-high 14 kills in the contest.
- Sunday will again reunite current Rebels assistant coach Tori Plugge with her collegiate court in Reed Arena, where she spent four years as an Aggie and is the Texas A&M all-time leader in digs with 1,420. Plugge appears in the A&M record book 47 total times and is 2-2 coaching against her alma mater.
ON THE HORIZON
Senior Nicole Purcell needs just 43 digs to break the single-season digs record, set in 2017 by Caroline Adams at 522. Purcell currently has 479.
Freshman Anna Bair needs just 61 kills to become the program's all-time freshman leader. She currently has 263.
Senior Emily Stroup needs 60 digs to enter the elusive 1,000/1,000 Club. Currently the program's all-time leader in kills with 1,479, she boasts 940 career digs. Only two Rebels in rally scoring history have reached this milestone, and eight overall.
NUMBERS TO KNOW
2 + 2: Number of block solos and block assists senior Nayo Warnell needs to move into second and third all-time in each category. She currently has 71 block solos in her career and 301 block assists. Her 372 total ranks her third all-time in Rebel rally scoring program history.
BROADCASTING LIVE
Sunday's contest with (RV) Texas A&M was chosen by the SEC Network as one of their 'Wildcard Weekend' contests and will now air nationally.
