No. 5 Rifle Concludes Fall Slate at Gamecock Invitational

Ole Miss Aims to Outshoot Four Teams in Alabama this Weekend
OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 5 Ole Miss rifle team will wrap up its fall schedule this Saturday at the five-team Gamecock Invitational in Jacksonville, Alabama.
The Rebels will aim to outshoot No. 7 Memphis, No. 12 Murray State, UAB and host No.13 Jacksonville State. Ole Miss' relay will begin at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday with the final team relays concluding Sunday afternoon.
Live stats can be accessed via the link provided for each relay as well as in-match updates via the @OleMissRifle Twitter account while the Rebels compete. Final results and a recap will be available on Sunday.

Junior Abby Buesseler, freshman Claire O'Neel, and Ole Miss as a team continue to have fantastic seasons as all three rank in the NCAA Top 20s for smallbore, air rifle and/or aggregate averages.

LAST MATCH HIGHLIGHTS FROM KENTUCKY (Nov. 8-9)
The Rebels traveled to Lexington and shot against two GARC foes in host No. 3 Kentucky on Nov. 8 and then-No. 6 Akron on Nov. 9. Ole Miss fell in both matches but posted a quality score of 4672 against Kentucky that maintained its position in the NCAA Championship Qualification process. So far, the Rebels have a top-three score average of 4671.33, which ranks fifth nationally in yet another close mix of programs this season.
On Nov. 8, the Rebels were led by O'Neel (582-594-1176), who recorded the fifth-highest aggregate score in school history. Additionally, the 4672 Rebel total was the fourth-best mark ever as a team. Right behind O'Neel were Buesseler (584-586-1170) and senior Alana Kelly (575-591-1166).
The following day saw a close contest involving Akron, 4677-4669, in a neutral-site dual. Ole Miss had the top overall scorer in Buesseler (583-590-1173) and air rifle in junior Kamilla Kisch (591). However, Akron used a balanced effort to finish two through five in aggregate.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
Due to the space needed to accommodate five teams for the Gamecock Invitational, No. 12 Murray State already posted its team score last weekend with a 4644. The Racers were paced by Anna Scheer (573-592-1165) and Abby's twin sister, Dana Buesseler (580-584-1164). Levi Clark (581-586) leads No. 7 Memphis with a strong 1168 aggregate average. Also look for JSU's Mackenzie VanPatten (1164) and UAB's Sophia Flores (1139) to power their teams.

The Ole Miss rifle team is back at No. 5 in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Top 20 poll. It is the highest the Rebels have ever climbed the national rankings. The current Top 5 includes West Virginia, TCU, Kentucky, Air Force, while Akron sits tied with the Rebels.
