No. 5 Ole Miss Posts 4663 Points in the Five-Team Field in Alabama

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The fall season officially concluded for the No. 5 Ole Miss rifle team as the Rebels finished second with 4663 points in the five-team, two-weekend Gamecock Invitational.

The Rebels competed in its single relay on Saturday, while the remaining teams tallied scores Nov. 16-17 and Nov. 23-24 inside the Gamecock Rifle Range.

Junior Kamilla Kisch led the Rebels to a team victory in air rifle with the top individual score of 594 points. No. 7 Memphis took the overall team crown with a 4679. Following No. 5 Ole Miss were No. 12 Murray State (third, 4644), No. 13 and host Jacksonville State (fourth, 4635), and UAB (fifth, 4541).

Ole Miss was unstoppable in air rifle by placing six shooters in the top 10. Kisch fired an outstanding season-high 594 to lead the way. Her score was only two points off her personal best of 596, which is tied for third in the program record book. The 2362 team score tied for second-most to close the first half of the Rebel season.

The air rifle effort allowed the Rebels to finish with four student-athletes in the aggregate top 10 standings. Senior Alana Kelly (577-591-1168) and classmate Abby Buesseler (576-591-1167) finished third and fourth, respectively. Memphis' Taylor Gibson ended the invite as the top overall performer (1177) as well as in smallbore (586).

Rounding out the Rebel total behind Kisch were Kelly (591), Buesseler (591), and freshman Claire O'Neel (586). Veteran Hayley Carroll also had a strong match to score 588 points as a non-counter.

Kelly finished in a tie for seventh in smallbore with her 577, powering Ole Miss to a 2301 in the opening event. Buesseler (576), O'Neel (576), and sophomore Erin Walsh (572) added to the total. Junior Sophia Cuozzo posted 575 points as a non-counter as well.
