Rebels to Face Princeton in Blue Gray National Opener

Ole Miss carries a four seed into the eight-team event

OXFORD, Miss. --   Riding a three-match win streak as they near conference play, Ole Miss Men's Tennis heads southeast, traveling to Montgomery, Ala., for the 71s tplaying of the prestigious Blue Gray National Tennis Classic. 
 
The Rebels will begin action against Princeton Friday at 12:30 p.m., following that with a doubles match against either Alabama or Fresno State. The two squads will conclude singles play Saturday, and will then wrap up play with a final opponent, yet to be determined. 
 
Ole Miss (5-3) carries the fourth seed into the tournament, sitting behind the Crimson Tide, Arizona, and Texas Tech. All four squads are rated in the top-50 in the latest ITA rankings, headed by Alabama at No. 16.
 
Fellow league foe Auburn and Conference USA opponent Rice round out the field.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rebels remained perfect at home, picking up identical 4-0 decisions against Alcorn State. Sophomore Cotter Wilson also stayed unblemished and has yet to surrender a game in Oxford, posting a 4-0 home record at No. 5 singles.
 
SCOUTING PRINCETON
The Tigers arrive in Montgomery with an 8-3 record, including winning six straight, but have dropped their last two matches to conference foes Harvard and Dartmouth. Princeton boasts three ranked players on their roster, led by sophomore duo Ryan Seggerman and Damian Rodriguez in doubles at No. 27 and freshman Karl Poling at No. 125 in singles. 
 
AGAINST THE TIGERS
Friday will be the second all-time meeting between Ole Miss and Princeton. Last season, the Rebels triumphed over the Tigers 5-2 on the road, battling through third sets at five of the six singles positions. Veterans Tim Sandkaulen and Fabian Fallert were each victorious at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively, to help guide the Rebels to victory.
