• The Rebel men have ranked within the top-25 for each of the last two weeks, currently sitting at No. 19 entering conference championship weekend.

• Ole Miss currently has a total of 15 marks or times that rank within the NCAA top-50, seven of which are within the top-25. To qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships, athletes must rank within the top-16 in their events at the end of the conference championship weekend.

• Ole Miss head coach Connie Price-Smith is in her fourth season. Price-Smith, who was the head women's coach for Team USA at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, is in her 18th season overall as a head coach.

• In four seasons at Ole Miss, Price-Smith has already mentored seven NCAA champions, 54 First or Second-Team All-Americans, 29 SEC Champions and several of the highest SEC and national team finishes ever at Ole Miss -- including the highest SEC Outdoor finish ever for the women in fifth place in 2018.

• Price-Smith's coaching staff all returns as well, with associate head coach Andre Scott (jumps, women's multis), assistant coach Anthony Acklin (sprints, hurdles), assistant coach Brian Porter (pole vault, javelin, men's multis), assistant coach John Smith (throws) and director of operations Sasha Leeth all returning for their fourth seasons at Ole Miss, with associate head coach Ryan Vanhoy (distance) entering his sixth year as a Rebel.

• Indoors, the Rebels return two Second-Team All-Americans, four Second-Team All-SEC members, and three members from the 2018 SEC All-Freshman team.

WOMEN'S NOTES

• Sophomore Shey Taiwo is currently the highest ranking Rebel female on the NCAA list, sitting at No. 14 in the NCAA and No. 3 in the SEC in the weight throw at her career-best 21.51m (71-07.00). That was a two-foot PR from the Vanderbilt Invitational in which she finished behind former Rebel teammate and NCAA Champion Janeah Stewart (24.17m/79-03.75; U.S. lead, No. 10 World history) and Rebel volunteer coach Jeneva Stevens (23.42m/76-10.00; 3rd U.S.).

• Junior Kieshonna Brooks has had a stellar season thus far, holding two marks within the NCAA top-50 at the moment. Her overall career-best in the long jump of 6.18m (20-03.50) sits at No. 20 on the NCAA list and No. 6 in the SEC, while her 150-point PR in the pentathlon at 3,792 points ranks 28th nationally and No. 6 in the SEC. At IU for the Indiana Relays, Brooks set all-time Rebel pentathlete bests in the 60-meter hurdles (8.48) and long jump (6.16m/20-02.50) while setting PRs in the high jump (1.56m/5-01.25) and 800-meter (2:32.06) and a season-best in the shot put (9.80m/32-02.00).

MEN'S NOTES

• The Rebel men shot up 74 spots in the USTFCCCA National Rating Index two weeks ago to No. 18, the largest jump in the nation in Week Four. Ole Miss fell one spot this week to No. 19.

• The men's DMR of Waleed Suliman (1200, 2:53.92), James Burnett (400, 47.59), John Rivera Jr. (800, 1:49.41) and Derek Gutierrez (1600, 4:03.51) won the JDL DMR Invitational out in Winston-Salem last week, running what was at the time the NCAA's fastest DMR time this year at 9:34.43 (which converts down to 9:26.73 after adjusting for track size).

• That time currently leads the SEC and ranks third in the NCAA while also ranking as the sixth-best DMR time in Ole Miss history.

• The Rebels have won four of the last five SEC titles in the DMR, taking four straight from 2014-17 before finishing runner-up in 2018. Ole Miss won the NCAA title in the DMR in 2017, the first national title in a relay event in school history.

Waleed Suliman broke Sean Tobin's school record in the mile of 3:58.28, winning Boston University's Valentine Invite at what was, at the time, the NCAA's fastest time of 3:56.78. Suliman currently ranks second in the NCAA behind Wisconsin junior Oliver Hoare (3:54.83), who is the reigning NCAA Outdoor champion in the 1500. Suliman also holds the NCAA's 25th-ranked 800-meter time of 1:49.19 (4th SEC).

Derek Gutierrez also broke the 4-minute barrier in Boston, running 3:58.55, which currently ranks as the 13th-best in the NCAA, second-best in the SEC and third-best in school history. Gutierrez unofficially broke the 4-minute barrier last May 31, running an unattached 3:59.48 at the St. Louis Festival of Miles.

• Gutierrez also holds NCAA top-50 times in both the 3K (7:57.78; 35th NCAA, 2nd SEC) and 5K (13:58.82; 37th NCAA, 4th SEC).

• Rebels Allen Gordon and Manny Foster had excellent career days in the long jump at Vanderbilt on Jan. 18, with Gordon leaping an indoor career-best 7.69m (25-02.75) and Foster an overall PR of 7.64m (25-00.75). Both fall within the top-50 nationally, with Gordon sitting 23rd in the NCAA and Foster 33rd.

• Outdoors as a freshman, Gordon leapt an NCAA wind-legal 7.80m (25-07.25) at a wind speed of 2.5 m/s.

• This year, Gordon has also cleared an overall career-best 2.19m (7-02.25) in the high jump, putting him third all-time at Ole Miss and No. 19 in the NCAA.

• Sophomore Peyton Weissmann used his last meet of the regular season to improve his pole vault PR to 5.25m (17-02.75), the 41st-best nationally and No. 8 in the SEC. Weissmann is one of just four Rebels to have ever cleared 17 feet both indoors and outdoors. He joins Kyle Wallace, Baker Vinci and Olympic bronze medalist, Sam Kendricks.

• Other Rebels with NCAA top-50 times include sophomore John Rivera Jr. in the 800-meter (1:49.41; 29th NCAA, 5th SEC) and senior Farah Abdulkarim in the 5K (14:02.78; 49th NCAA, 5th SEC).
