Men’s Golf Set to Battle USF in Match Play

Rebels will Compete Against the Bulls at Belleair Country Club
CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. – The Ole Miss men's golf team heads to the Sunshine State for the USF – Ole Miss Challenge, facing the Bulls in a 36-hole match play event on Monday.
The Rebels will compete against USF at Belleair Country Club. Monday's schedule begins with a 7 a.m. CT start with eight singles matches. The afternoon segment will be a quartet matches as Rebels will pair up to battle the Bulls. On the front nine, alternate shot (foursomes) will be the format before making the turn and switching to best ball (four-ball).
Head coach Chris Malloy will have eight Rebels compete against his former team. Brody Blackmon, Beau Briggs, Chip Getz, Jack Gnam, Charlie Miller, Jackson Suber, Sarut Vongchaisit, and Cecil Wegener all made the trip to Florida.
"It is great to get back to Tampa and enjoy the good weather this time of year," said Malloy. "We have enjoyed the last couple of days of practice and are eager to get into competition tomorrow. Coach Bradley has done an amazing job with this program, so it should be a great test."
Malloy spent four seasons (2011-14) as USF head coach returning to his alma mater. He led the Bulls to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances, the second and third in the program's history. In 2013, Malloy guided South Florida to the school's first-ever Big East tournament championship and earned Big East Coach of the Year honors.
There will be no live scoring during the event. Results will be posted at the end of the day on OleMissSports.com.
