Rebels Will Compete Against Seven Ranked Teams at Lantana Golf Club

OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 41 Ole Miss women's golf team continues spring action as they travel to Texas for The Bruzzy beginning on Monday.

The two-day, 54-hole event will take place at Lantana Golf Club in Argyle, Texas, which will be playing at 6,421 yards and par 72.

Head coach Kory Henkes is bringing six Rebels to compete in Texas. The starting five remains unchanged from the previous two outings, with Julia Johnson in the No. 1 position, followed by Ellen Hutchinson-Kay, Conner Beth Ball, Kennedy Swann, and Macy Somoskey. Diane Lim will compete as an individual.

"We're excited to get back on the course and compete," Henkes said. "We have a lot of positives to take from our last two events and are ready to put together another great showing this week back in Texas."

Julia Johnson continues to be the number one player for Ole Miss, as the sophomore is coming off consecutive top-10 finishes at the Tar Heel Classic and Evans Derby Experience. Johnson has since moved up to No. 46 in the Golfstat individual rankings.

Ellen Hutchinson Kay has been in the top-three of the lineup in eight of her first nine events for the Rebels, and is first on the team in total birdies with 57 during her freshman campaign.

Conner Beth Ball joins Johnson and Hutchinson-Kay in the top-three of the lineup for the sixth time and has four top-20 finishes this season, the last coming at the Tar Heel Classic earlier this month.

Kennedy Swann will return to her home state this week. The Austin native has appeared in the starting five each of the last two weeks for the Rebels.

Macy Somoskey has earned a spot in the lineup for the third time this spring. The freshman put together a top-50 finish at the Evans Derby Experience this past week, the toughest field the Rebels have faced this season.

Diane Lim will be making her season debut playing as an individual this week.

First round begins Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start and continuous play for 36 holes. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.com.

This will mark the second time this season Ole Miss has competed in Texas. The Rebels closed out the fall season at the Jim West Challenge in October, finishing fifth as a team with a 1-over 865.
