Kranic Earns Ranked Win Friday at No. 9 Florida

The freshman picks up his first ranked victory of the spring
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Freshman Karlo Kranic picked up his first ranked win of the spring season, but was unable to propel the Rebels to victory, as Ole Miss Men's Tennis fell to No. 9 Florida 1-6 Friday at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
Kranic, last week's SEC Freshman of the Week, prevailed over the Gators' Johannes Ingildsen, ranked No. 79 in the latest ITA release, after taking the opening set 6-3 and triumphing in a third set break, 10-6. He is now 2-0 against ranked opposition, defeating Auburn's Matteo de Vincentis (then No. 53) at the ITA South Regional in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in late October.
The loss was just Ingildsen's second in dual match play this season.
Veteran Filip Kraljevic also took things to the wire, grueling through two tiebreakers over the course of his three-set decision with another ranked Gator, this one No. 54 Andres Andrade.
Kraljevic and partner Tim Sandkaulen, a newly-minted ranked pair (No. 75), were leading 5-4 over one of the Gators' four ranked doubles duos before Florida clinched the doubles points with wins on Courts 2 and 3.
