OXFORD, Miss. – After identical 4-0 victories Wednesday to begin their 2020 campaign, Ole Miss Men's Tennis looks to stay perfect, welcoming Belmont and Jackson State for a pair of matches Sunday at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, located along Manning Way.

The Rebels will first face the Bruins, slated for a 1:30 p.m. first serve, and welcome Jackson State at 4 p.m.

LAST MATCH OUT
The Rebels swept North Alabama Wednesday to begin their spring season. Sophomore Simon Junk picked up three wins, surrendering just one game in singles play and winning 18 in a row. Freshmen Lukas Engelhardt and Nikola Slavic delivered strong performances in their first collegiate dual matches, each picking up a victory.

THE 2020 SLATE STARTS TOUGH
Ole Miss will face at least 13 teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament a year ago, including nine in the SEC. The Rebs will get their first test during the ITA Kickoff Weekend in late January, facing No. 13 Illinois. They could also face No. 17 Michigan that weekend, and will meet No. 8 TCU before beginning conference play at Arkansas to begin March.

SCOUTING THE BRUINS
Belmont, selected to win the Ohio Valley Conference, began its Saturday with fellow SEC foe, Vanderbilt, falling 5-2. Upperclassmen Marko Ilic and Vincent Sterkens each picked up a win in singles.

The Rebels and Bruins are familiar with one another, as four separate individuals faced at least one player from Belmont during fall tournaments. Senior Memphis transfer Felix Rauch leads the squad, boasting seven wins entering the weekend.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Jackson State began its spring season Friday, falling 4-1 to Eastern Illinois. The Tigers roster is youthful, as four of the seven members are sophomores or freshmen. The lone victor Friday was freshman Agustin Agosto.

UP NEXT
Ole Miss heads to the ITA Kickoff in Champaign, Illinois, where they will face the No. 13 Illini and will follow that up either with Michigan or Texas Tech.
