Ole Miss Women Have Earned Team Honor 10-Straight Seasons
NEW ORLEANS – Following yet another historic cross country season, both the Rebel women's and men's teams have been awarded by the USTFCCCA with All-Academic honors for the 2019 season, with six Rebels earning individual honors and the Ole Miss women earning the team distinction for the 10th consecutive year.
The Rebel women, coming off the highest national and SEC finishes in program history, recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.64, earning their 10th-straight team award. Ole Miss was one of 237 women's teams to earn the team honor this season.
For the third straight year, the Ole Miss women also tied the program record for individual recipients with four. Earning the distinction this year were Anna Elkin, Maddie King, Victoria Simmons and Lisa Vogelgesang. For King and Vogelgesang, this is the second consecutive individual honor after also being named in 2018.
The two-time defending SEC Champion Rebel men's team also earned two individual honors, with Michael Coccia and Mario Garcia Romo being named All-Academic.
In order to be named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and either a top-25 regional finish or an All-American finish at the national meet.
