THE COURSE
Founded in 1992, Vanderbilt Legends Club is a 36-hole golf club located in Franklin, just 17 miles south of downtown Nashville. Vanderbilt Legends Club was designed by Bob Cupp, one of the world's foremost golf course architects, and Tom Kite, PGA Tour-Champions Tour veteran with 19 PGA Tour victories including the 1992 U.S. Open championship. The North course is a 7,200-yard par 72 golf course, and the South course plays 7,100 yards and par is 71.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH MALLOY
"We have been looking forward to getting back into tournament play since our last event. We have an extremely young group that has been working hard leading into this event. I look forward to watching them compete this week.

POWERED BY SCHELL
Playing in his first tournament as a Rebel, Brett Schell rose to the occasion and led Ole Miss at the season-opening Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Using a final round 70 (-2), the St. Augustine, Florida, native soared up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 34th (74-81-70—225) at the tough Blessings Golf Club. After redshirting the 2019-20 campaign, Schell has emerged this season as another Rebel finding success early on in his career.

WELCOME BACK JACK
A familiar face is back in the starting five. Teeing it up in all eight tournaments a season ago, Jack Gnam was a regular for the Rebels. A competitive stretch of qualifying saw Gnam miss out on the season-opening tournament in Arkansas, but a solid week of rounds pushed him back into the Ole Miss lineup. After finishing the 2019-20 campaign with a 72.75 stroke average, Gnam had a big summer victory by capturing the prestigious Cotton States Invitational.

YOUNG BUT EXPERIENCED
Out of the 11 golfers on the 2020-21 Ole Miss roster, junior Cecil Wegener is the only upperclassman. However, having a large group of freshmen and sophomores doesn't mean the Rebels aren't an experienced bunch. Wegener, Jackson Suber and Sarut Vongchaisit have two years apiece as mainstays in the Ole Miss lineup. The trio has played in 61 tournaments amongst themselves. In his first season as a Rebel, Veeti Mahonen competed in all eight events on the 2019-20 schedule, while also cracking the lineup for both tournaments this season. Jack Gnam and Charlie Miller also provide extensive tournament experience on the roster, leading to some intense competition to make the Ole Miss starting five.

NEXT ON THE TEE
Wrapping up the fall, the Rebels will tee it up at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate for the second straight year (Nov. 9-10). The tournament will take place at the Old Overton Club in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
