THE COURSE
Blessings Golf Club will play from 7,503 yards as a par 72. The course was originally designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. with a redesign recently completed by noted architect Kyle Phillips. In 2019, Blessings hosted both the NCAA Men's and Women's Golf Championships.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH MALLOY
"We are extremely excited to get back into tournament play. This has been extremely hard on our players and coaches alike to have such a long break. Now, we have to be ready to compete amongst the teams from the best conference in the country, the SEC."

SUBER LEADS THE WAY
It's no surprise that Jackson Suber leads the Rebels into the 2020-21 season as the team's No. 1 golfer. The Tampa, Florida, native was Ole Miss' best golfer in five of eight tournaments last year and earned PING Southeast All-Region honors. Firing a team-high 16 rounds of par-or-better, including eight rounds in the 60s, he recorded a 71.04 stroke average that ranked ninth in the SEC. Entering his third season for the red and blue, Suber has been in the lineup for every tournament to provide consistency and reliability.

YOUNG BUT EXPERIENCED
Out of the 11 golfers on the 2020-21 Ole Miss roster, junior Cecil Wegener is the only upperclassman. However, having a large group of freshmen and sophomores doesn't mean the Rebels aren't an experienced bunch. Wegener, Jackson Suber and Sarut Vongchaisit have two years apiece as mainstays in the Ole Miss lineup. The trio has played in 58 tournaments amongst themselves. In his first season as a Rebel, Veeti Mahonen competed in all eight events on the 2019-20 schedule. Jack Gnam and Charlie Miller also provide extensive tournament experience on the roster, leading to some intense competition to make the Ole Miss starting five.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN
Chris Malloy enters his seventh season as head coach of the Rebels. The COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020 NCAA Championships, preventing Malloy from taking his alma mater to its fourth straight NCAA Regional appearance. Malloy has led Ole Miss to six tournament titles as a team to go along with 14 wins by individual Rebels. Under Malloy's tutelage, Braden Thornberry became the first national champion in Ole Miss Golf history and earned the 2017 Fred Haskins Award (nation's most outstanding collegiate golfer). As a player for the Rebels, Malloy helped lead Ole Miss to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000.

NEW COACH
A new assistant coach joined the Rebels this offseason as head coach Chris Malloy welcomed Austin Cody to the program. Cody arrived in Oxford after three years at UAB, including the past season as the Blazers' associate head coach. During his time in Birmingham, Cody helped lead the Blazers to new heights. The program cracked the nation's top 25 in the fall of 2019, reaching its highest ranking since 2013. Under his guidance, three Blazers earned All-Conference USA selections, including two first team selections.

FALL SLATE
The Blessings Collegiate Invitational is one of three tournaments that the Rebels will compete in this fall. Up next, Ole Miss will head north to Franklin, Tennessee for the Legends Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Vanderbilt (Oct. 25-27). Wrapping up the fall, the Rebels will tee it up at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate (Vestavia Hills, Alabama) for the second straight year (Nov. 9-10).
