Men’s Tennis Doubles-Down at Final Day of Auburn Invitational

Rebels Sweep Doubles for First Time This Season
AUBURN, Ala. – Ole Miss men's tennis defeated Florida and Vanderbilt in doubles play in the final day of competition at the Auburn Invitational on Sunday.
Ole Miss won two of five matches against Florida, Vanderbilt, and Alabama on Sunday, competing in both singles and doubles against Florida and Vanderbilt, while only playing singles against Alabama. The Rebels conclude the weekend with a combined team record of 5-4 in singles and 4-2 in doubles.
vs. Florida
In a doubles match featuring two ITA All-Americans, Brady Draheim and All-American Tim Sandkaulen outlasted the Gator's Ben Shelton and 2018 All-American Duarte Vale by a score of 8-6. In singles, Sandkaulen faced Vale's 2019-20 doubles partner Andy Andrade, falling 6-4, 6-4. Andrade compiled an impressive 24-6 record last season for the Gators.
vs. Vanderbilt
Jan Soren Hain and Cotter Wilson improved to 2-1 in doubles by defeating the Commodore's Marcus Ferreira and Macsen Sisam, 8-4. Sisam competed primarily at No. 2 doubles for Vanderbilt last season. After winning in doubles, Wilson lost to highly-touted Vanderbilt freshman Jeremie Casabon in singles, 6-4, 6-2.
vs. Alabama
In singles, Draheim faced stiff competition in the Crimson Tide's Avi Shugar, dropping in straight-sets, 6-4, 6-1.
Coming Up
The Rebels head to Starkville on October 23 for the three-day Mississippi State Fall Invitational.
