Suliman Led Rebel Men to Dominant 41-Point Team Win at Louisville

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ole Miss senior and two-time All-American Waleed Suliman has been named the SEC Men's Runner of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Suliman – a native of Richmond, Virginia – led the Rebel men to a dominant 41-point team victory over Charlotte at Louisville's Live in Lou Classic on Oct. 3, finishing second overall at the SEC's top 8K time this season of 23:36.8. Suliman led a pack of five Rebel men's scorers that all finished within the top-10 and scored just 36 seconds apart.

This was the second straight top-five finish for Suliman, who took fourth overall at the season opener SEC Preview in Baton Rouge on Sept. 19. Suliman is the only Rebel to have earned All-American status in cross country in consecutive seasons after recording NCAA Championship finishes of 36th in 2018 and 20th in 2019.

Ole Miss men's and women's cross country is off this week before traveling to Birmingham for UAB's Blazer Classic on Fri., Oct. 16.
