Men’s Golf Continues Play in Arkansas

Suber Leads Rebels in Second Round
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Jackson Suber recorded five birdies as part of an up-and-down day, firing a 76 (+4) to lead the Ole Miss men's golf team in the second round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. The sophomore battled on the back side of Blessings Golf Club, using three birdies to shoot even par over the final nine holes.
Through 36 holes, the Rebels have found success on the par 5s. Ole Miss is 6-under as a team on the long holes, which includes playing the par-5 15th 3-under during round two. Suber, Sarut Vongchaisit and Cecil Wegener all walked away with birdies on the 559-yard hole. Vongchaisit paces the Rebels at 7-over (73-78—151) overall following a pair of 39s today.
With a 282 (-6), the low round of the day, Alabama leapfrogged Tennessee to sit atop the leaderboard with 18 holes to play. Kentucky's Alex Goff (-10) grabbed a four-shot lead entering the final round after shooting a 65 (-7) Tuesday.
The Rebels will wrap up their season-opening tournament tomorrow (Oct. 8), teeing off at 10:28 a.m. CT. Coverage on the Golf Channel begins at 2:30 p.m. CT.
