OXFORD, Miss.  --  Entering their final weekend of nonconference action, Ole Miss Men's Tennis will come with high expectations, serving as the top seed in the annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic, held in Montgomery, Ala., on February 21-22.

The Rebels begin the tournament taking on Fresno State at 12:30 p.m. at Lagoon Park, with further match dates and times to be determined. Fans can follow the links provided for live scoring and draw updates.

The red-hot Rebels come in at No. 20 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rankings, carrying a 6-1 record and pulling off thrilling Top 25 upsets against then-No. 12 Illinois and then-No. 20 Oklahoma State in late January in their last time on the court.

Individually, a pair of Rebels have garnered recognition in the rankings. Senior Tim Sandkaulen carries a No. 55 boasting and is joined by his junior teammate Finn Reynolds as the No. 40 ranked doubles tandem.

REBEL RECAP
In front of a near-capacity crowd at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, the Rebels downed Oklahoma State 4-2, highlighted by sophomore Jan Soren Hain's thrilling comeback win, taking his final two sets to earn his first clinch of the season and first ranked win of his career. Hain was awarded with SEC Player of the Week plaudits for his efforts.

Classmate Simon Junk also enters the weekend with a strong resume, holding a perfect record in dual match play at 7-0 and 14 wins overall on the 2019-20 season.

2019 BLUE GRAY
The Rebels arrive in Montgomery seeking redemption, after reaching the Championship in 2019 before falling to then-unranked Arizona. Ole Miss first took down Princeton 4-2, and then upset then-No. 16 league foes Alabama (the 2019 top seed) by the same score to catapult them into the finals and into the ITA Rankings the following week.

THE TOURNAMENT FIELD
Ole Miss will face either Auburn (#44) or Princeton (#28) in their second round of action, while the bottom half of the features four more Top 50 teams in Arizona (#46), Alabama (#48), Middle Tennessee (#27), and No. 21 Texas Tech.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State enters the weekend with a 3-2 record, having won its last three straight, the last two coming in 4-3 results. The Bulldogs boast no ranked players in the latest ITA Rankings.

UP NEXT
The Rebels will take on one more road test before beginning conference play, traveling to Fort Worth to take on No. 12 TCU next Friday, February 28.
